Cooked, boneless, unseasoned salmon is a good food for dogs. Raw or undercooked salmon and other Pacific salmonid fish is the exception — in parts of the western US it can carry the parasite that causes salmon poisoning disease, which is often fatal in dogs if untreated. Smoked salmon is safe from that but very salty.
Don't make it a habit. Watch for vomiting, diarrhea or a lost appetite over the next day and call your vet if it doesn't settle or your dog seems unwell.
